    • PURPOSE: A heating furnace having a lower door and a control method thereof are provided to reduce fuel consumption of a heating furnace by regulating the opening width of a lower door according to the width of a material being taken from the heating furnace. CONSTITUTION: A heating furnace comprises a body(10) having an exit hole for taking out a material(S), upper and lower doors(20,120) for opening and closing the exit hole, an upper door driving unit(30) which moves the upper door up and down, a lower door driving unit(130) which moves the lower door up and down, and a control unit(40) which controls the operations of the upper and lower door driving units. A displacement sensor(12) is provided in the body to detect the existence of a material and transmits a detection signal to the control unit so that the control unit controls the operation of the lower door according to the detection signal.

The contact guiding unit is arranged in the extraction stage and generates electromagnetic force to pull the extraction door toward the extraction stage. The control unit controls the operation of the extraction door driving unit and the contact guiding unit.
