By moving the carriage 24 by this drive source 3, the ball surface of the ball body 25 is moved so as to abut to or separate from the fluid outflow path 28, and it is placed in a closed or opened condition.

    • PURPOSE: An expansion valve is provided to reduce the number of parts in an expansion valve, thereby reducing weight and size of the expansion valve. CONSTITUTION: A first passage(20) is formed in a valve main body(10) for passing a high-pressure refrigerant. A valve chamber(22) is formed close to a bottom part of the first passage. A second passage(24) is formed inside the valve main body in parallel with the first passage for passing the refrigerant directed to an evaporator. An orifice member(40) is inserted into the valve main body, having a throttling passage communicating the valve chamber with the second passage. A valve member(30) is arranged opposite to the orifice member. A third passage(26) for passing the refrigerant transmitted from the evaporator. An actuation rod(60) operates the valve member. A power element(70) drives the actuation rod. An opening communicates the third passage with the power element. A guide member(100) is inserted into the opening to guide the actuation rod to slidably move.
