CONSTITUTION: A control system(10) for controlling shifting of an automatic transmission is composed of a clutch(22) transmitting torque between a first rotating member and a second rotating member of the automatic transmission, a hydraulic actuator connected to operate the clutch, a pump(14) supplying the supply source of compressed fluid, an electric pressure bleed valve(12) regulating pressure of fluid to the actuator by containing compressed fluid from the pump and decreasing pressure of the pump, a transmission control unit(26) applying the electric signal of the valve, and a pressure sensor(24) detecting pressure supplied to the actuator by the valve and supplying the electric signal for indicating pressure to the transmission control unit.

    • PURPOSE: A method for controlling and adjusting a solenoid operated pressure control valve is provided to output the pressure of the valve accurately corresponding to the pressure activating current on the command by adjusting the valve. CONSTITUTION: A shift control system of an automatic transmission of a vehicle is composed of a hydraulic source pump(12), an electronic control unit(15), and a clutch actuator(17) engaging or disengaging a gear set(21) by actuating a shift clutch(19). The pump receives fluid from a pipe(22) connected to a discharge or sump return outlet(24) of a solenoid operated pressure control valve(10). A first table and a second table include data on increasing solenoid current and valve output pressure and decreasing solenoid current and the valve pressure output. The command pressure is compared with the measured pressure at the outlet of the valve, and interpolated for solenoid actuating current.
