    • The present invention relates to a lubricant cooling apparatus for the main engine of a ship, wherein the lubricant cooling apparatus for the main engine of a ship has a pressure control valve on the coolant circulation line thereof in order to lower the pressure of a coolant when the pressure of a lubricant is raised by the malfunction of a lubricant pump and the frequent variation of a load on the main engine, and thus the pressure of a coolant exchanging heat with the lubricant is raised, thereby preventing internal damage to a lubricant cooler. According to the present invention for the above effect, a lubricant cooling apparatus for the main engine of a ship comprises a lubricant cooler cooling a lubricant with a temperature, which is raised after the lubricant is circulated in the main engine, through a coolant; a lubricant supply line and a lubricant discharge line connected to the lubricant cooler, and allowing the lubricant to be supplied and discharged; a lubricant pump installed on the lubricant supply line, and allowing the lubricant circulated in the main engine to be smoothly supplied to the lubricant cooler; a coolant supply line and a coolant discharge line connected to the lubricant cooler, and allowing the coolant for cooling the lubricant to be supplied and discharged; and a pressure control valve installed on the coolant discharge line, and lowering the raised pressure of the coolant as much as a difference between an optimal pressure and the raised pressure of the coolant above the optimal pressure.
