    • PURPOSE: A process for preparing lead wires is provided to give the easy of controlling their tensile strength and elongation, especially the property of their semihardness in an annealing step. CONSTITUTION: A process is characterized by comprising the next steps. A wire rod having a constant diameter is performed by a first annealing and is selected. After a second annealing, the resultant is plated with Sn, Pd, Sn-Pb type metals and Sn-Sb type metals. The final step comprises skin passing it to give the desired wire rod. The skin pass step is completed by arranging a dice(3) in a tank(2) contained oil(1) to transfer then the resulting lead wire(4) to a transfer roller(6) disposed by a moving chain(5). Alternatively, the process may be also rearranged by placing the first annealing, the first selecting, the second annealing, the second selecting, the plating and the skin passing in order.
