    • PURPOSE: A method for preparing polymer nano-composites is provided to perform a process of organizing layered clay mineral filler and a dispersion process in one process and to obtain polymer nano-composite with excellent dispersion stability and bondability. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing polymer nano-composites comprises the steps of: preparing a dispersion by dispersing layered clay minierals in water and controlling the pH of a resultant to 6~12; adding raw rubber latex and C12~C22 substituted or unsubstituted alkylammonium to the dispersion; preparing the mixture by stirring and heating the mixture; preparing a precipitate by controlling the pH of the mixture to 3~4; and washing and drying the precipitate with ultrapure water.

    • Provided is a rubber composition for a belt strip edge of a tire, which shows high tear strength and excellent cracking resistance, and solves the problem of separation between a belt and another belt or separation between a belt and a tread. The rubber composition for a belt strip edge of a tire comprises: 100 parts by weight of base rubber essentially comprising natural rubber; and 2-10 parts by weight of aramid short fibers. Particularly, the aramid short fiber is poly(paraphenylene terephthalamide) having a Young's modulus of 24-25 MPa, a tensile strength of 2400-3000 MPa, an elongation at failure of 3-4% and an aspect ratio of 20-700. The aramid short fiber may be surface-coated with a latex rubber coating composition comprising resorcinol formaldehyde and processing aids.

    • A process for the preparation of an aqueous rubber emulsion (artificial latex), comprising the steps: (a) size reduction of the rubber, whereby granules are produces with shorter dissolving time; (b) cement formation, wherein the granules of step (a) are dissolved in a suitable hydrocarbon solvent; (c) preparation of an aqueous soap solution; (d) emulsification of the cement formed in step (b), using the aqueous soap solution prepared in step (c), thus forming an oil in water emulsion; (e) hydrocarbon solvent removal, resulting in an aqueous emulsion of the rubber, and optionally (f) emulsion concentration, forming an artificial latex with a higher solids content, wherein in step (a) the size reduction is carried out using a chopper and/or granulator characterized in that a soap is used as processing aid, preferably identical to the soap used in steps (c) and (d).
