    • PURPOSE: A board using a cross-linked polylactic acid and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to enhance the melt strength, thereby facilitating the thermal processing and improving physical properties of products after processing, such as water resistance, tensile strength, and elongation. CONSTITUTION: A board comprises a cross-linked polylactic acid resin and a wood powder. The wood powder is contained in a content of 50 to 150 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the cross-linked polylactic acid resin. The cross-linked polylactic acid resin is cross-linked by a heat-initiated cross-linking reaction or through irradiation. A manufacturing method of the board comprises: mixing a polylactic acid resin, a cross-linking agent, and a cross-linking aid to prepare a polylactic acid resin mixture; subjecting the polylactic acid resin mixture to a heat-initiated cross-linking reaction for cross-linking; preparing a composition for forming a board, the composition containing the cross-linked polylactic acid resin, and 50 to 150 parts by weight of a wood powder based on 100 parts by weight of the cross-linked polylactic acid resin; and thermoforming the composition for forming a board, followed by post-treatment, to manufacture the board.
