    • PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for transporting substrate media are provided to stabilize motion quality and to transport the media from a transporting unit at a marking zone to a transporting unit at a lower side. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for transporting substrate media includes a first media transporting part, a second media transporting part, a first force converter (70), and a control unit. The first media transporting part has a first transporting surface and a first driving unit, and transports the media (15). The second media transporting part has a second transporting surface and a second driving unit, houses the media from the first media transporting part, and transports the media. The first force converter measures a first relative force between the first and the second media transporting part, and outputs a first force signal corresponding to the first relative force. The control unit receives the first force signal, and outputs a control signal dependent on comparison between the certain value of at least one of the driving units and the first force signal.     • PURPOSE: A paper separating guide of a feeding cassette for printing apparatus is provided to prevent the generation of picking errors caused by thick papers and overlapping by thin papers, thereby using various papers conveniently. CONSTITUTION: A paper separating guide(50) of a feeding cassette for printing apparatus is mounted in the front part of the cassette(10) with a predetermined inclination in the paper advancing direction. The paper separating guide has different friction coefficients per the stacking height(H) of papers, wherein the friction coefficient is maximum at a portion where a paper positioned on the bottom surface of the cassette contacts. The friction coefficient of the paper separating guide is changed by forming protrusions(51) with different height.
