    • PURPOSE: A winding apparatus and a winding control method are provided to optimize internal stress considering thermal stress by calculating the temperature profile of a winding roll according to a predetermined time and the variation of environmental temperatures that the winding roll receives. CONSTITUTION: A winding apparatus comprises a winding tension adjusting device having a temperature profile calculating unit, a stress calculating unit, and an optimal value calculating unit. The temperature profile calculating unit calculates the temperature profile of a winding roll after a predetermined time based on the variation of environmental temperature affected to the winding roll and the predetermined time. The stress calculating unit calculates the internal stress of the winding roll based on the calculated temperature profile. The optimal value calculating unit calculates the optimal value of winding tension based on the calculated internal stress.
