    • An air cleaning filter media is provided to exhibit excellent dust collecting efficiency even with low energy loss such that the air cleaning filter media is effectively used in the air cleaning filter, an air cleaning filter made of the air cleaning filter media is provided, and a method of making the air cleaning filter media is provided. An air cleaning filter media comprises a porous support, and a porous web of ultra-fine microfibers, which is laid up on one face of the porous support and formed by electrospinning, wherein the ultra-fine microfibers are formed from polysulfone, polyether sulfone, polycarbonate, polystyrene, polymethyl methacrylate, polyethylene terephthalate, polyetherimide, polyamide, polyamide-imide, or mixtures thereof. The porous web of ultra-fine microfibers is laid up in a mass per unit area of the porous support of 0.1 to 10 g/m^2. The ultra-fine microfibers have an average diameter of 200 nm to 5 mum. The porous support is a nonwoven fabric formed from polyethylene terephthalate, polyolefin, cellulose, or mixtures thereof. A method of making an air cleaning filter media comprises the steps of: preparing a porous support; preparing a polymer solution of polysulfone, polyether sulfone, polycarbonate, polystyrene, polymethyl methacrylate, polyethylene terephthalate, polyetherimide, polyamide, polyamide-imide, or mixtures thereof; and electrospinning the polymer solution onto one face of the porous support to form a porous web of ultra-fine microfibers.

    • PURPOSE: An antibacterial filter for water purification and its preparation method are provided, which filter is made of monofilament, is durable, and does not filter minerals useful to human body. CONSTITUTION: The antibacterial filter for water purification is prepared by mixing 40 wt% of cellulose acetate monofilament, 35 wt% of polyester islands-in-a-sea type monofilament and 25 wt% of silver-zeolite-containing polyester monofilament; and melt pressing and forming the mixture. Also the antibacterial filter for water purification is prepared by mixing 40 wt% of cellulose acetate monofilament, 35 wt% of polyester monofilament coated with low melting point polyester resin and 25 wt% of silver-zeolite-containing polyester monofilament; and melt pressing and forming the mixture. Preferably the mold for pressing and forming is an anodized aluminium mold.
