    • A tunable light source structure suggested in the present invention simultaneously satisfies a broadband variability of 100nm and a high speed variability below several ns by overcoming the limitation of an existing technology which does not satisfy the broadband variability and the high speed variability at the same time. A driving method is simplified in comparison with the existing technology and performs a stable operation, thus reducing the manufacturing costs of the entire module including the driving circuit. When implementing SLD and AMZI-FP which are core components of the tunable light source structure according to the present invention, materials based on not only III-V materials (GaAs, InP, and GaSb) but also Si or polymer optical waveguide are applied.

    • An optical vision chip and an image recognition method using the same are provided to perform an image recognition operation while not requiring complex mathematical equations or calculation by directly comparing an object image with a standard model image. An optical vision chip includes the first display element(10), the second display element(14), and an optical sensor(18). A size and a shape of the first pixel(12) of the first display element and the second pixel(16) of the second display element are overlapped with those of a sensor pixel of the optical sensor. The first display element displays an object image, and the second display element displays a standard model image stored at an external memory. When the second display element displays the standard model image, the brightness of the standard model image is a complement to the brightness of the object image. The optical sensor outputs an electric signal, which expresses an optical difference between the object image and the standard model image, via an electrode line. If the electric signal outputted by the optical sensor is sent to an external display unit, an optical difference of the image can be displayed.

    • PURPOSE: A signal separation type optical wavelength converter is provided to output a wavelength-converted optical signal without a filter by separating the wavelength-converted optical signal from output optical signals. CONSTITUTION: A signal separation type optical wavelength converter includes the first input terminal(34), the second input terminal(35), an optical amplification modulator(31), the first output terminal(36), and the second output terminal(37). The first input terminal is used for receiving a continuous light source. The second input terminal is used for receiving optical signals. The optical amplification modulator is used for deciding the output terminal according to the input terminal and varying the intensity the continuous light source according to the intensity of the optical signal. The first output terminal is used for outputting the optical signals having the converted wavelength. The second output terminal is used for outputting the optical signal inducing the cross gain modulation.
