    • PURPOSE: Bacillus subtilis PBS-5 and a microbial agent using the same for improving soil are provided to suppress proliferation of plant pathogens causing phytophthora blight, root rot, anthrax, and gray mold rot. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing Bacillus subtilis PBS-5 comprises: a step of isolating Bacillus subtilis from foods, with a strong antibacterial activity against Botritis cineria, Fusarium solani, Phytophthora cactorum, and Rhizoctonia solani; a step of treating a culture medium of the strain in an agar solid medium and inoculating fungal pathogens; a step of measuring antibacterial activity and testing antibacterial ability of the strain; a step of testing enzymetic ability of the strain; a step of identifying the strain; and a step of culturing a large amount of the strains.
