CONSTITUTION: A multi-plate type coupling unit comprises a driven plate(2), a plurality of drive plate(3), a hydraulic piston(10), a spring(13), a hydraulic chamber(22), and a lock unit(9). The spring is contacted with the hydraulic pressure portion(10b) of the hydraulic piston. The hydraulic chamber applies force to the hydraulic pressure portion. The lock unit limits the movement of the driven plate and the drive plate of the hydraulic piston while the plate not coupled.

    • PURPOSE: A multi-plate frictional engagement structure is provided to improve the fuel ratio of a vehicle comprising an automatic transmitter by reducing the hydraulic force applied to an oil chamber. CONSTITUTION: A multi-plate frictional engagement structure comprises a driven plate(2), a drive plate(3), a clutch piston(12), a joint piston(13), a first hydraulic chamber(21), and a second hydraulic chamber(22). The clutch piston is installed in the drive plate and a drive plate. The clutch piston comprises a first hydraulic pressure portion(12r). The joint piston comprises a second hydraulic pressure portion(13r) and a joint portion(13e) and is installed to be moved in axial direction. The joint portion joins the clutch hub and the clutch drum not to be rotated. The first and the second hydraulic chambers apply hydraulic force to the first and the second hydraulic pressure portion respectively.
