    • PURPOSE: A purifying method of an organic solvent is provided to change the boiling point of impurities which have a similar boiling point with acetate, thereby purifying propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate with high purity and high yield. CONSTITUTION: A purifying method of an organic solvent comprises an organic solvent mixture which includes propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate and cyclohexanone; and a step of adding dialkyl ketal compound to the organic solvent mixture and removing the cyclohexanone. The dialkyl ketal compound is represented by chemical formula 1. In chemical formula 1, each of R1, R2, R3, and R4 is independently C1-12 alkyl group or C6-12 aryl group.

    • PURPOSE: A method for refining an organic solvent is provided to discharge propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate(PGMEA) and dimethylformamide(DMF) respectively through the upper part and the lower part of a distilling column by lowering the boiling point of the PGMEA than the boiling point of the DMF. CONSTITUTION: A method for refining an organic solvent includes the following: a mixture containing PGMEA and DMF is prepared(S10); an entrainer is added into the mixture(S30); and the mixture with the entrainer is azeotropic distilled. The entrainer contains water. The mixture contains n-butyl acetate. The amount of the entrainer is 25 to 40 wt% based on the mixture. The azeotropic distillation is implemented under the atmospheric pressure.
