    • PURPOSE: A cellular indexing method is provided to express cells in a simple numbers and to predict characteristics of the cells without repetitive tests. CONSTITUTION: A cellular indexing method comprises: a step of culturing cells on a culture solid substrate with gradient of surface characteristics; a step of evaluating growth or differentiation of cells on the culture substrate; and indexing the cells by linearly digitalizing the evaluated growth or differentiation. The surface characteristic is chemical or physical surface characteristic. The chemical surface characteristic is hydrophilic, hydrophobic, or chemical functionality. The physical surface characteristic is contact angle, surface roughness, surface tension, positive charge density, or negative charge density.
