    • PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for encoding a space-time-frequency block are provided to maximize a coding gain of a space-time-frequency block code. CONSTITUTION: A transmitter of a communication system using three transmitting antennas includes a line encoder(104), a recombinator(106), a space-time-frequency block encoder(108) or a space-time block encoder. The line encoder outputs a line encoding symbol column with a shape in which an inputted symbol column is divided into a real number part and an imaginary number part. The recombinator groups a line encoding symbol from the line encoding symbol column. In a first real number part and a first imaginary number part of a first line encoding symbol, and a second real number part and a second imaginary number part of a second line encoding symbol, the first line encoding symbol is recombined by the first real number part and the second imaginary number part. The second line encoding symbol is recombined by the second real number part and the first imaginary number part.

    • A precoding device in a multi-antenna system and a method therefor are provided to eliminate self-channel interference by using reverse channels for each user and to use linear and non-linear precoding functions, thereby performing pre-equalization without global channel state information as preventing an increase of transmission power in a permutation process. A base station confirms whether feedback signals are received(801). If so, the base station confirms downlink channel information of terminals from the feedback information(803). The base station selects terminals for receiving services(805), and modulates signals to be transmitted to the terminals according to the downlink channel information(807). The base station determines a non-linear precoding mode(809), and pre-compensates transmission signals according to the selected non-linear precoding mode(811). The base station eliminates interference between multiple users from the compensated signals(813). The base station transmits the interference-eliminated signals to the terminals(815).
