    • PURPOSE: A boat chuck isnprovided to reduce its fabrication cost by using a ceramic rather than the conventional quartz material and to prevent the generation of a quartz powder by preventing the scratching and the breaking during contacting with a boat. CONSTITUTION: A boat chuck(130) of a boat elevator is made of a ceramic material having high heat resistance. A robot arm(120) can move a boat up and down according to an axis which can move the boat elevator up and down, and the boat chuck which can hold both ends of the boat is comprised in the robot arm. The quartz powder which acts as a particle source causing the defect in a wafer is removed because the boat and the boat chuck contact each other.
