    • An object of the invention is to develop a method for purifying a cardiac myocyte to a high degree and at a high yield from a cell mixture containing the cardiac myocyte derived from a fetus and a stem cell using various characteristics which were not assumed to be used for the purpose of cardiac myocyte purification in the past or various characteristics which were newly found without undergoing genetic modification and adding a special protein or a biologically active substance. The inventors of the invention found that a cardiac myocyte can be efficiently selected and purified to a high degree by culturing a cardiac myocyte derived from an embryonic stem cell in a culture medium in a low serum condition, a low sugar condition, a low nutrient condition, a low calcium condition, a slightly acidic pH condition, a condition where lactic acid is added, a condition where aspartic acid/glutamic acid are added and/or a condition where pyruvic acid is added. Further, they found that the method found by using an embryonic stem cell can be applied to the selection/purification of a cardiac myocyte derived from a fetus and the selection/purification of a cardiac myocyte derived from an adult stem cell.
