    • PURPOSE: A method for regulating the flower shape or color of a plant is provided to obtain a Compositae plant with various shaped and color and to be used in a flower industry. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling the flower shape or color of a Compositae flowering plant comprises a step of transforming Compositae flowering plant cells with a recombinant vector containing Malus domestica-derived MdMADS2 gene. MdMADS2 gene contains a base sequence of sequence number 1. The Compositae flowering plant includes Chrysanthemum morifolium, sunflower, or marigold. The flower shape includes increase or reduction of diameter of flower core part, reduction of disk flower length, increase of the number or width of ray flowers, or increase of pistil length. A method for producing a transgenic Compositae flowering plant with regulated flower shape or color comprises: a step of transforming the Compositae flowering plant cells with a recombinant vector containing Malus domestica-derived MdMADS2 gene; and a step of redifferentiating.
