    • The present invention provides a composition for enhancing abiotic stress tolerance which comprises nucleotide sequences coding for Arabidopsis thaliana stress related protein (AtSRP) protein of a plant and a growth-promoting composition. Nucleotide sequences of the present invention are involved in tolerance to abiotic stress such as dryness, low temperatures, salt stress, etc., and a transformed plant which AtSRP is overexpressed has excellent tolerance to abiotic stress so that they can be useful as a new functional crop which is not interrupted by the climate or the environment of the growing area. Also, when nucleotide sequences of the present invention are transformed, viability of a plant is significantly improved so that it can be useful as a new functional plant capable of forcing culture and biomass.
