    • PURPOSE: A motor control apparatus is provided to detect a stimulus position based on ascending and descending of a pulse signal, thereby effectively suppressing sinusoidal wave distortion of a modulated wave signal. CONSTITUTION: A motor(10) is operated with power of a DC power source(E). A driving circuit(4) controls a waveform of motor driving current. An inverter circuit(6) outputs a DC current of the DC power source to the motor by converting into an AC motor driving current. The inverter circuit is arranged by assembling six switching devices(Tr1-Tr6). The switching device is turned on/off by a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) driving signal from the driving circuit.

CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling a brushless DC motor includes a power conversion unit and a control unit(214). The power conversion unit converts the commercial AC power to the multi-phase AC power. The control unit(214) detects a phase commutation period by using the position information of a rotor and an extinction point of the arc extinction phase current applied to a cathode of the power conversion unit. In addition, the control unit(214) controls the power conversion unit to supply the compensation voltage for maintaining the average voltage of non-commutation phases during the phase commutation period. The power conversion unit includes a converter(204) for converting the commercial AC power to the DC power, an inverter(206) for converting the DC power to the multi-phase AC power, and a DC terminal capacitor(208) for connecting the converter(204) to the inverter(206).

    • An apparatus and method to suppress a low speed ripple current to a motor include a power supply unit to supply single-phase alternating current (AC) power. A rectifying and smoothing unit rectifies and smoothes the single-phase AC power and outputs a direct current (DC) voltage indicative thereof. An inverter receives and converts the DC voltage to a motor driving current to drive the motor. A controller compares an envelope detected from a ripple current in the motor driving current and a DC component extracted from the ripple current and generates a compared result therefrom, and controls an output voltage from the inverter according to the compared result.
