    • A receiving apparatus and a synchronization detecting method for detecting synchronization more accurately are provided to detect starting point of sampling and a starting point of a frame by using receiving signal corresponding to a sampling interval and a phase reference signal.     • A method and an apparatus for hierarchical modulation/demodulation in an OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system are provided to perform an in-phase demodulation by using a pilot which is transferred to a second layer. A hierarchical modulation apparatus in an OFDM system includes first and second encoders(110,120), a pilot insertion unit(130), and a hierarchical modulation unit(140). The first encoder encodes a first layer signal stream, which is a basic layer signal. The second encoder encodes a second layer signal stream which is an enhancement layer signal. The pilot insertion portion inserts a pilot signal for estimating a channel coefficient to an encoded second layer signal stream. The hierarchical modulation portion modulates the second layer signal stream, to which the pilot signal is inserted, and the encoded first layer signal stream, and combines the encoded signals with each other.

A first demodulating unit(31) receives an amplitude-differential phase shift keying modulated signal and demodulates the received signal with the differential phase shift keying. A second demodulating unit(324) extracts the pilot signal from the received signal.

    • An adult certificating system in a mobile RFID(Radio Frequency Identification System) environment and a method thereof are provided to obtain the adult contents in other terminal, and to perform adult certification without exposing a resident registration number. An adult certificating system in a mobile RFID environment includes a rate information reading unit(111), an adult certification rating unit(1341), and a service rate certificate validity determining unit(1343). The rate information reading unit is placed at a terminal(11) of a user, and reads adult certification rate information(101) recorded in a mobile RFID tag(10) of adult contents. The adult certification rating unit determines an ultimate rate of the read rate information. The service rate certificate validity determining unit determines whether the adult contents of the ultimate rate is provided to the user of the terminal based on the ultimate rate and an age of the user of the terminal.
