    • A general bending strength value is estimated based on an empirical equation developed from the outside by using the relation between temperature, salinity, and density of sea ice in order to measure bending strength of the sea ice in the past, but the calculation of the bending strength is limited according to a temperature range of the sea ice measured in a process of calculating a volume ratio of salt water. Accurate salinity measurement is difficult due to a leakage of the salt water generated in a process for drilling a sample of the sea ice. The process for measuring the density of the sea ice is also very complicated. Therefore, the present invention provides a system for accurately measuring the bending strength of the sea ice and for improving existing problems. For achieving the purpose, the present invention is a system for measuring the bending strength of the sea ice through a test of a left arm beam on the sea ice at an end sea area and comprises a support unit, a fixing device, a load cell, a loading cylinder, a screw jack, a motor, a sensor, and a data acquisition system. According to the present invention, the measurement of high bending strength of the sea ice is possible at the actual end sea area, and a measured value can be utilized as base data in estimation of icebreaking performance of an icebreaking vessel and in structure design of the vessel.

    • PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for damage measurement using pressure difference are provided to enable easy measurement of the damage level of a test material using the pressure of a corrosive gas as a mechanical load. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for damage measurement using pressure difference comprises a gas chamber(100), a thin plate specimen fastener(140), a communication pipe, a first pressure meter(151), and a second pressure meter(152). The gas chamber is formed with an inlet port(101) connected to an inlet pipe(110) formed with an inlet valve(112). The gas chamber is formed with an outlet port(102) connected to an outlet pipe(120) formed with a minute outlet valve(122). The thin plate specimen fastener airtightly fixes the boundary surface of a thin plate specimen(200). The thin plate specimen fastener divides into the first gas fill volume and the second gas fill volume. The thin plate specimen fastener is installed in the inner wall of the gas chamber into the shape of a ring. The one end of the communication pipe connects to a first gas space(100-1). The other end of the communication pipe includes a flow metering valve. The first pressure meter connects to the first gas space. The second pressure meter connects to the second gas space.
