    • A system and a method for sealing an opening of a tank are provided to prevent the leakage of fuel by using a plate and a fuel tank manufactured with nanocomposite blends. The system for sealing an opening of a tank comprises a plate(6) containing a layer composed of a composite which is formed by dry-blending 100 weight percent polyolefin resins, 0.5~60 weight percent gas-barrier nanocomposites of layered clay compounds and one or more kinds of gas-barrier resins selected from a group of ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, polyamid, ionomer and polyvinyl alcohol, and a 1~30 weight percent compatibilizer. The method for sealing an opening of a tank comprises the steps of shaping a plate containing a gas-barrier nanocomposite blend which is formed by dry-blending 100 weight percent polyolefin resins, 0.5~60 weight percent gas-barrier nanocomposites of layered clay compounds and one or more kinds of gas-barrier resins selected from a group of ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, polyamid, ionomer and polyvinyl alcohol, and a 1~30 weight percent compatibilizer, and sealing hermetically by joining the shaped plate around an opening of a tank.
