    • Disclosed is a torque converter for a vehicle that comprises a lock-up clutch which can be applied to a multi-plate clutch and can stably fix a piston in a narrow space. The torque converter for a vehicle according to the present invention comprises: a front cover; an impeller that is coupled with the front cover and rotates; a turbine that is arranged at a position facing the impeller and rotates in response to the rotation of the impeller; a reactor that is positioned between the impeller and the turbine to change the flow of an oil from the turbine to the impeller side; the lock-up clutch that transmits a driving force from the front cover directly to a transmission; and a torsional damper that is coupled with the lock-up clutch and includes springs which are arranged in a circumferential direction of a shaft to absorb vibration and impacts in a rotational direction. A hub, which is coupled with an inner side of the front cover, has the same center of rotation as the front cover, has an outer circumferential surface formed of a spline, and is coupled with the front cover. A piston, which is provided in the lock-up clutch, is coupled with the hub. A movement restricting member, which restricts an axial direction movement of the piston, is coupled with the hub.

    • Disclosed is an automotive torque converter where the structures of an elastic component working as a damper and a spring seat supporting the elastic component are improved. The automotive torque converter of the present invention includes the following parts: a front cover; an impeller which is combined and rotated with the front cover; a turbine which is arranged at a position facing the impeller; a reactor which is placed between the impeller and the turbine, and changes the flow of oil coming out of the turbine to the impeller side; a lockup clutch equipped with a piston which directly connects the front cover and the turbine; and a torsional damper which is combined with the lockup clutch and absorbs shocks and vibrations applied in the rotational direction. The torsional damper includes the following components: a retaining plate which is combined with the piston; multiple elastic components which are arranged on the retaining plate and apply elastic forces in the circumferential direction; and a driven plate which applies reaction forces to the elastic components and is combined with the turbine. The elastic component includes an outer spring which is arranged along the circumferential direction at regular intervals, and an inner spring which is arranged at the inside of the outer spring. A spring seat is arranged at both sides of the outer spring. The spring seat includes the following parts: a support part which supports one end of the outer spring; an insertion part which is extended from the support part and inserted into the outer spring; and an inner spring supporting hole which is prepared at the insertion part in the lengthwise direction of the inner spring, and where an end portion of the inner spring is inserted.

CONSTITUTION: A front cover is connected to a crank shaft of an engine and spins. An impeller engages with and spins together with the front cover. A turbine faces the impeller. Located between the impeller and the turbine, a stator directs the flow of oil originating from the turbine to the impeller. A lock-up clutch includes a piston which directly connects the front cover and the turbine. A torsional damper connected to the lock-up clutch absorbs vibrations and shocks occurring in the spin direction. The torsional damper comprises: a retaining plate (19) connected to the piston; compressive coil springs (17) on the retaining plate which receives elastic force in the columnar direction; spring sheets (23) on one ends of the compressive coil springs which support the springs; and a plate connected to the shaft of the turbine which serves as reaction force against the compressive coil springs. A spring sheet includes: a main body (25) with an insert groove for a compressive coil spring; and an insert unit (27) which is protruded from the main body towards and is inserted into a compressive coil spring. A compressive coil spring has a fixing unit (33) which is an extension of the spring and is inserted into the insert groove (29).
