    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy conversion device and equipment provided with the same capable of reducing an installation space and taking out rotary motion of which the rotation range and torque are large.
      SOLUTION: A thermoelement 10 is provided with an approximately arc shaped rod 16, a first member 13 having an approximately arc shaped sliding path 13B having an approximately same curvature as the rod 16 with one end side of the rod 16 slidably inserted therein and a converting body housing part 13A for housing a converting body of which the volume changes by a peripheral temperature change, connected in the sliding path 13B formed inside, and a bearing 14 having an outer ring 142 with the other end of the rod 16 fixed and an inner ring 141 for supporting the first member 13. Because the rotary motion of the first member 18 in accordance with a volume change of the converting body is performed in the installation space of the thermoelement 10, an occupying space does not change and the installation space can be reduced.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a power source by providing a thermal reaction member which deforms according to variation in ambient temperature and a spiral spring, and utilizing torque generated by the deformation of the thermal reaction member accompanying its expansion and contraction to take up the spiral spring. CONSTITUTION:The thermal reaction member 1 is installed where the influence of atmospheric temperature is exerted, and expands in a spiral shape or is wound. The shape deformation of the thermal reaction member 1 appears as the rotary torque of a shaft 10 and this torque is transmitted to a winding shaft 22 through a gear mechanism 3 to wind the spiral spring 2. The force charged in the wound spiral spring 2 is outputted gradually from a power shaft 21 as the rewinding force of the spiral spring. Therefore, driving force is obtained continuously from the power shaft 21 of the spiral spring 2 while the spiral spring 2 has the rewinding force.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find a simple and low-cost mainspring winding mechanism for a self-winding mechanical timepiece to dispense with wind-up or shaking motion without using electric power.
      SOLUTION: This mainspring winding mechanism utilizes a difference in ambient humidity. A material expanding and contracting according to a change in humidity such as nylon, that is, a humidity sensitive material, is worked into a spiral or zigzag shape. One end thereof is fixed and the other end is turnably supported. A turn is given to the spiral-shaped sensitive material in keeping with a humidity change. Out of left and right turns, only a turn in one direction is transmitted to the mainspring via a one-way clutch or a ratchet mechanism to wind the mainspring.
