      SOLUTION: What is called a light converging sheet and a light accumulative material which are molded or formed in a pleats shape are combined together and the stimulation wavelength of a fluorescent agent kneaded in the light converging sheet is equalized to the light emission wavelength of a phosphorescent agent to increase the area of the light converging sheet, i.e. the area of the phosphorescent agent as compared with solar light incidence area because of the molding or formation into the pleats shape. Further, the area (cross section) of an end surface of the light converging sheet is much less than the sheet area. Those two effects mutually operate, so the incident solar light is temporarily accumulated, amplified, and emitted from the end surface.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find a simple and low-cost mainspring winding mechanism for a self-winding mechanical timepiece to dispense with wind-up or shaking motion without using electric power.
      SOLUTION: This mainspring winding mechanism utilizes a difference in ambient humidity. A material expanding and contracting according to a change in humidity such as nylon, that is, a humidity sensitive material, is worked into a spiral or zigzag shape. One end thereof is fixed and the other end is turnably supported. A turn is given to the spiral-shaped sensitive material in keeping with a humidity change. Out of left and right turns, only a turn in one direction is transmitted to the mainspring via a one-way clutch or a ratchet mechanism to wind the mainspring.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means to realize a lightweight/simple mechanical cleaner which does not use electric power, can remove even fine garbage and does not need even supplies.
      SOLUTION: Problems are solved with dynamic working of an endless belt which partly touches a floor surface and a brush wheel which has a plurality of brushes and freely rotates. In other words, the endless belt is formed like a duplicate cylinder with a connected part, and the inner cylinder is in contact with the brush wheel. Since a part of the endless belt touches the floor surface, the endless belt starts to rotate according to the promotion of the whole cleaner. Lower part of the brush wheel is in contact with the floor surface, and the relative speed to the floor surface is generated twice as much as the promotion speed of the whole cleaner in the promoting direction. Therefore, garbage on the floor is raked up in the promoting direction by the brushes. The raked garbage is held between the endless belt and the brush wheel and carried until it reaches an upper part. When the garbage reaches the upper part, it falls and is held in a container because the brush wheel has an opening.
