    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly decelerate an engine without generating an engine stall by rapidly closing a throttle valve up to the specified opening, while gradually closing the throttle valve at the specified opening or less in the closing action of the throttle valve. SOLUTION: This accelerating/decelerating device for a carburetor is provided with a pressure chamber 26 communicating with an air bleed chamber 14 of the carburetor, and a diaphragm 25 for increasing/decreasing the volume of the pressure chamber 26. The diaphragm 25 is interlocked to decrease the volume of the pressure chamber 26 in the opening operation of a throttle valve 8 and to increase the volume of the pressure chamber 26 in the closing operation. A plurality of air passages 42, 43 provided with throttle parts 40, 41 are connected to the pressure chamber 26, and a valve mechanism 45 is provided for closing at least one air passage when the throttle valve 8 has a specified opening or less. The inflow of air into the pressure chamber 26 is thereby increased up to the specified opening to rapidly close the throttle valve 8, while the inflow of air into the pressure chamber 26 is reduced at the specified opening or less to gradually close the throttle valve 8.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide an acceleration device for a carburetor which can supply acceleration fuel stably for a long time. SOLUTION: A cam lever 8 having a cam surface 8A is fixed to a throttle valve operation shaft 4A between a throttle lever 5 and an end 3A of a support boss 3. A first lever 10 is abutted against the cam surface 8A of the cam lever 8 by means of a first spring 12 energized in a first rotational direction A. A second lever 11 is abutted against a regulation part 10C of the first lever 10 by means of a second spring 13 energized in a second rotational direction B, and arranged on a pump rod 6H which pressurizes a pump diaphragm 7 of a pump device P in an abutting manner. An abutting portion K of the first lever 10 against the cam surface 8A of the cam lever 8 is arranged between the throttle lever 5 and the end 3A of the support boss 3 in a longitudinally axial direction Y-Y of the valve operation shaft 4, and arranged in a projected surface of the throttle lever in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis Y-Y of the throttle valve operation shaft 4.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the top part side of an adjusting screw from moving a screw inserting hole having a diameter larger than that of the outer diameter of a shaft part and prevent it from displacing even when fine looseness caused by back rush by forming a truncated surface on which a head part side is opened between a head part and a shaft part, and forming a knurling tool on the truncated surface. SOLUTION: An adjusting screw 20 consists of a head part 21, a shaft part 22, and a truncated surface 23 formed between the head part 21 and the shaft part 22. In the truncated surface 23, a V groove 25 which is formed on an invented truncated surface whole upper part is opened and faced from an axial core toward a radial direction, and a flat knurling tool 27 which multiple top tip parts 26 are formed in a circumferential direction in parallel with each other. First and second plates are connected to each other, thereby, even when the inner diameter of the screw inserting hole of the first plate is formed larger than the outer diameter of the shaft part 21 of the adjusting screw 20, the axial core of the adjusting screw 20 and the hole center of the screw inserting hole matched with each other naturally, and alignment is carried out. In a connecting condition, stress is concentrated on the top tip part 26 of the flat knurling tool 27, and abrasion resistance is enlarged more than both flat surfaces in association with the movement in the horizontal direction of the adjusting screw 20.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent infiltration of waste water into a dash pot for controlling the return speed of a throttle valve in an automobile carburetor by attaching a ring having an inner diameter adapted to be elastically fitted onto a rod and a retainer ring abutting surface, to a spring retainer. CONSTITUTION:An annular ring 29 made of an elastic material such as rubber is made into close contact with the inside of a spring retainer 19A, and is fitted to the same with no gap therebetween. The inner diameter of the spring retainer 19A is made to be larger than that of the conventional one by the thickness of the ring 29 in order to fit the ring 29 thereonto. Further, the inner diameter of the ring 29 is set to be slightly smaller than that of the rod 11 so that it can be elastically press-fitted onto the outer periphery of the rod 11 in a condition in which the ring 29 is fitted in the spring retainer 19A. Accordingly, no gap exists between the rod and the spring retainer, thereby it is possible to prevent infiltration of waste water.
