    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear derailleur for a bicycle capable of regulating the rocking position in the counter-urging direction from being changed even when changing the urging force with respect to a base member. SOLUTION: The rear derailleur 27 comprises a base member 32 rockable around the first axis X, an urging member 34 with a first end thereof being locked to the base member 32 to urge the base member 32 clockwise while viewing the base member 32 from the outside, a spring stretching member 36 with a second end of the urging member 34 being locked which is arranged around the first axis and capable of changing the spring force of the urging member, a rock-regulating member 38 which is arranged around the first axis X in parallel to the spring stretching member 36 and has a first regulation unit 46 to regulate the counterclockwise rocking position of the base member 32, a chain guide, a movable member 42 to rockingly connect the chain guide, and a link mechanism 44 to connect the movable member 42 to the base member 32 so that the movable member 42 is relatively movable to the base member 32.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear derailleur with a structure where a tension sprocket wheel does not come close to the ground too much even if a chain is wound on a large chain wheel, and to provide the rear derailleur having a wide range of applications in a wheel size, on/from which a wheel can be easily mounted/dismounted.
      SOLUTION: A guide arm 23 and a tension arm 24 swing around a guide arm swing axis 232 and a tension arm swing axis 243 respectively. The arms 23 and 24 swing independently of each other and a distance between a guide sprocket wheel 231 and a tension sprocket wheel 241 changes in accordance with a speed change state.

On the other hand, when a resistance is added to the motion of the movable member 158 as when a rider is not pedaling, the one end 214 of the spring 218 is rotated around the spacer 188 to increase the tension of the coil spring 218. Accordingly, the coil spring 218 stores the energy for shift motion.
