    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pig passage confirmation device capable of confirming whether a pig passes therethrough or not, and further obtaining a position of the pig.SOLUTION: A pig passage confirmation device includes: a mounting member 25 removably attached to a repair valve; a holding member 27 vertically movably provided to the mounting member 25 in a water-tight state; an insertion member 29 provided to the holding member 27 and inserted into a distributing pipe 1; and a twisted coil spring 31 showing passage of a pig along with an ascent of the insertion member 29. The insertion member 29 is energized downward by a coil spring 95 with respect to the holding member 27. A movement of another end 31b of the twisted coil spring 31 is regulated by an engaging part 77 provided to the insertion member 29 in an initial state. When the pig passes therethrough and the insertion member 29 is pushed up, the engaging part 77 also moves upward and the other end 31b of the twisted coil spring 31 moves, so that the passage of the pig can be confirmed.

The sliding shaft 10 lowers through the connecting 17 while the detecting rod 22 rotates in an advancing direction through passage of the pig P. The passage is confirmed by movement of the indicator on a display part.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for washing the inside of a water pipe which can satisfactorily wash even a large-diameter water pipe, and can recover an elastic body, also called a pig, even when the elastic body stops in the middle of the pipe and cannot move forward.
      SOLUTION: At a stage where the elastically deformable elastic body 31 having an hollow portion therein is inserted in a contracted state into a branch pipe 13 connected to the water pipe 1 and sent through the branch pipe 13 into the water pipe 1 to be washed, water is poured into the hollow portion of the elastic body 31 to expand its diameter, and water is supplied from the downstream side of the pipe 1 to send the elastic body 31 to the downstream side, thereby washing the pipe 1. As the diameter of the elastic body 31 is expanded by pouring water into the hollow portion, a force of the elastic body 31 pressing the inside of the pipe 1 by coming into contact with the inside of the pipe 1 can be made satisfactorily large to enable satisfactory washing with large washing capacity even if the pipe 1 to be washed has a large diameter.
