    • PURPOSE:To contrive the stabilization of the deflection amplitude by detecting at which rate of the horizontal period a time scanned between two points on a screen for an electron beam shares and applying negative feedback so that the detected rate is in coincidence with a criterion. CONSTITUTION:At which position on the screen an electron beam is scanned on the screen is detected by a position detector 104, which outputs a pulse train. A counter 106 counts the number of reference clocks for a prescribed period of the pulse train and if the deflection amplitude on the screen is fluctuated, the count number is also fluctuated. The variance of the deflection amplitude is detected by an amplitude controller 108 and a waveform generator 101 or an amplifier 102 is controlled by using the generated amplitude control signal to control the amplitude of the deflection waveform outputted to the deflection electrode. Thus, the deflection amplitude on the screen is made stable.
