    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle managing device for performing efficient work for managing a parked vehicle in accordance with a stopping time for the vehicle. SOLUTION: The vehicle managing device comprises a detecting device 2 having a sensor part 7 mounted on the vehicle 1 for detecting the stop of the vehicle and a timer part 8 for measuring a passage of time since the sensor part 7 detects the stop of the vehicle 1, and an output device 3 for outputting a stopping time for the vehicle measured by the detecting device 2. This construction permits the measurement and display of the stopping time for the vehicle and discriminates whether the vehicle parked in accordance with the time is a long-time stopped vehicle or a general stopped vehicle. Thus, the need for withdrawing and replacing the vehicle is determined, resulting in efficient management of the parked vehicle.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sure distinguish and detect two vehicles even while two vehicles are closely moved by discriminating one vehicle and the other vehicle of intervals extracted in detected vehicles as two different vehicles. SOLUTION: On the assumption that a vehicle (a) tries to leave, a prescribed parking charge is put into a slot 5, the vehicle (a) is moved within prescribed time from that insertion and the next vehicle (b) moves into a parking space S in the state close to the vehicle (a), when the vehicle (a) is moved, an image data processing part detects the rear edge of the vehicle (a) and detects the top end of the next vehicle (b) after a prescribed interval L. Namely, the image data processing part detects the interval, namely, break of the vehicles (a) and (b). When the rear edge of the vehicle (a) is detected, a control part discriminates that the vehicle (a) leaves the parking space S and resets a parking meter 1 and the state of waiting for the parking of the next vehicle (b) is set. When the vehicle (b) is parked in the parking space S, the measurement of parking charge is started similarly to the parking time of the vehicle (a).
