      SOLUTION: The cover unit 20 has a cover member 21 and decorative members 22 to 24. The cylinder-shaped cover member 21, having a plurality of stepped parts 26 to 29 arranged in a direction perpendicular to the outer face, is arranged around a lamp 11. The decoration members 22 to 24 formed into a flat plate shape have holes 30 to 32 for inserting the cover member 21 into them. Widths in the lateral direction of the plurality of stepped parts 26 to 29 are formed larger, the farther downward they are. The decoration members 22 to 24 are supported by boundary parts 33 to 35 of the step parts 26 to 29.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart antistatic performance to a transmissive thermoplastic resin plate without using an antistatic agent so that dirts hardly stick by using the transmissive thermoplastic resin plate with one face or both faces coated with surface layers containing a photo-semiconductor as the transmissive cover of a luminaire. SOLUTION: A transmissive thermoplastic resin plate of 1 to 5 mm thick, for example, an acrylic resin plate is used for the cover of a luminaire. Metal oxide, such as titanium oxide, tin oxide, zinc oxide, iron trioxide, or bismuth trioxide is cited as a photo-semiconductor coating the surface of the resin plate. The surface layer is formed 0.1 to 100 μm thick by applying a mixture of, for example, anatase titanium oxide and silicone resin to one face or both faces of the resin plate and by heat treating. Thereby, the surface resistivity of the transmissive luminaire cover becomes low so as to obtain an excellent antistatic performance, and dirts hardly stick thereto.
