    • PURPOSE:To excavate safely and at a low cost a huge underground space with large openings, without necessity of using a shield machine with a large bore or expensive segments, but with the use of ordinary civil engineering machines. CONSTITUTION:Two vertical shafts are constructed from the ground surface, and two parallel shield tunnels 1A and 1B of medium or small diameters are excavated in a horizontal direction from the bottoms of the vertical shafts, and the inside of the tunnels 1A and 1B is provided with primary linings with cast-in-place concrete. Side walls of the shield tunnels 1A, 1B and natural ground are cut in a horizontal direction like slits by a chain cutter 3 which is assembled in one of the shield tunnels 1A or 1B, and the two shield tunnels 1A and 1B of medium or small diameters are communicated, and steel material is pressed into the slit shaped parts and concrete is placed to construct a ceiling part 4. Two parallel earth retaining walls 5A and 5B are constructed in a vertical direction from the inside of respective shield tunnels 1A and 1B to the specified depth, and slit parts 6A and 6B that have openings towards a natural ground which is held by the earth retaining walls 5A and 5B are cut, and the natural ground which is surrounded by the ceiling part 4 and the two parallel earth retaining walls 5A and 5B is excavated.

    • PURPOSE:To make wall thickness be thinned as well as to reduce the cost of production by partitioning the inner part of an outer wall into four spaces extending in the vertical direction, with a vertical wall, while forming this outer wall into a convex curved surface projecting to the outside. CONSTITUTION:A skeleton 2 of an underground parking space or the like is provided with a skeleton body 3 as the outer wall, and the inner part is partitioned into four spaces 5 extending in the vertical direction, with a section cruciform vertical wall 4 consisting of a horizontal wall 4a and a vertical wall 4b. Next, a skeleton body constituent wall 11 surrounding these spaces 5 is formed into a convex curved surface protuberant to the outside. In succession, this convex curved surface is made to be a plane aggregate consisting of plural rectilinear continuous lines whose external line is bent at the specified angle, while a center O of this curved surface is situated almost midway in each space 5. In addition, this convex curved surface is altered to a circular curved surface at need. With this constitution, even if wall thickness is thinned to some extent, strength is securable, so the material cost is reducible, and since a wasteful space is more decreased than a cylindrical sectional skeleton, a digging quantity is reducible and, what is more, buoyancy by means of water pressure is reducible as well.
