    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcement structure and a reinforcement method capable of suitably suppressing buckling of a diagonal member in an existing structure.
      SOLUTION: In the structure for reinforcing an existing structure having a plurality of box-shaped sectional vertical members 1 and 2 disposed at intervals in a predetermined direction, and each diagonal member 3 disposed between the vertical members 1 and 2, a diaphragm member 12 is provided within the vertical member 1, and a strut 6 is laid between the joint part of the diaphragm member 12 in the vertical member 1 and a longitudinal middle part of the diagonal member 3. The diaphragm member 12 includes a first load support member 13 mutually connecting orthogonal middle parts orthogonal to the predetermined direction of the box-shaped section of the vertical member 1 and extending in the predetermined direction and a second load support member 14 connecting a longitudinal middle part of the first load support member 13 to a corner part of the box section of the vertical member 1.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the reinforcement of a splicing section of an existing bridge is less efficient.
      SOLUTION: This reinforcing method is applied to the existing bridge 1 which is composed of a plurality of steel girder members 2 and constituted by making the girder members 2 bolted together via a splice plate 3. In the reinforcing method, a bypass member 6 is composed of stress introduction plates 7 and 7 which are provided on both the longitudinal sides of the girder member 2 fitted with the splice plate 3, and a bypass rib 8 for transferring stress by connecting the stress introduction plates 7 and 7 together; the bypass member 6 is applied on both the sides of the splice plate 3 in such a manner as to set the bypass member 6 to straddle the splice plate 3; and the stress introduction plates 7 and 7 are fastened to the girder member 2 by means of a bolt 10.
