A tapered suction roll sleeve 6 with an inner peripheral face having the same gradient as the outer periphery of the tapered suction roll cell machine body 5 and with an outer peripheral face having a cylindrical outer periphery of an arbitrary diameter is relatively inserted into the outer periphery of the tapered suction roll machine body to give a suction net or a suction roll capable of freely inserting and removing suction rolls of various diameters, by which the optimum paper layer formation is carried out under various paper making conditions.
