    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet material that is produced by directly blowing a hot gas mainly including superheated steam via the air-permeating belt zone restraining the free shrinkage of the sheet into the moisture inside the sheet to cause the instantaneous vaporization (in a pressure flow) of the moisture whereby the sheet is made porous and disclose a method of producing the same and a drier for the foamed sheet.
      SOLUTION: A moistened sheet material 35 is nipped between the externally heated rotor 1 equipped with an outlet 19 for blowing a hot gas from the circumferential direction and the air-permeating endless fabric 36 that moves synchronously to the rotation of the rotor 1 under such a tension that can restrain the drying shrinkage of the sheet whereby the moisture in the sheet is promptly and directly vaporized and the sheet is made porous.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deal with the watermark formation, watermark pattern and filler clogging of various suction cylinders and suction rolls to be used for a wire part, a press part, etc., to readily change the constitution of each paper layer formation unit and to improve the orientation, yield and physical properties of fiber, watermark pattern, operation efficiency, etc. SOLUTION: An irrotational cylinder having a drain opening divided by a suction method in the interior at the central part is installed. A machine body 5 of a tapered suction roll cell rotating through a bearing is fixed to revolving shafts 3 and 4 and attached to the outer periphery of the cylinder. A tapered suction roll sleeve 6 with an inner peripheral face having the same gradient as the outer periphery of the tapered suction roll cell machine body 5 and with an outer peripheral face having a cylindrical outer periphery of an arbitrary diameter is relatively inserted into the outer periphery of the tapered suction roll machine body to give a suction net or a suction roll capable of freely inserting and removing suction rolls of various diameters, by which the optimum paper layer formation is carried out under various paper making conditions.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a paper layer having improved fiber orientability, yield, physical properties, watermark patterns, etc., by easily changing the constitution of paper layer-forming units in response to papermaking conditions decided by the quality of the paper to be made, such as the kinds of paper fiber raw materials, their freeness, their concentrations, filler conditions, basis weight, watermark patter, watermark dimensions, and papermaking speed, and to provide a device therefor. SOLUTION: This device for forming a paper layer is obtained by disposing a non-rotating cylinder having in its center a water-draining opening whose inside is divided by a suction style, mounting a tapered (suction) roll cell main body 5 capable of being rotated through bearings on rotation shafts 3, 4 to dispose the roll cell on the outer periphery of the non-rotating cylinder, and subsequently inserting a tapered (suction) roll sleeve 6 capable of being expanded or contracted in the centrifugal direction and having a cylindrical outer peripheral surface and an inner peripheral surface having the same gradient as that of the outer peripheral surface of the roll cell main body 5 onto the roll main body 5. The optimal paper layer are thereby formed under various kinds of papermaking conditions with a suction circular net capable of being freely inserted or withdrawn.
