    • PURPOSE:To exactly regulate an Na/S molar ratio and to obtain a concd. aq. Na2S soln. by obtaining a liquefied H2S by compressing and cooling a gaseous mixture of H2S and H2 obtained by allowing an excess of H2 to react with S and then allowing the liquefied H2S to react with an aq. NaOH soln. CONSTITUTION:The liq. sulfur S received in a raw material tank 502 from a line 501 is supplied to an evaporator 504 through a pump 503 and heated, an excess of gaseous H2 C over the theoretical quantity is introduced into the evaporator 504 from a line 506, the mixture of the generated S vapor and gaseous H2 is introduced into a reactor 505 and subjected to a reaction, and a mixture contg. 70-95% gaseous H2S and 5-30% gaseous H2 is obtained. The gaseous mixture is then passed through heat exchangers 507, 510, 513 and 514, cooled, compressed by compressors 516 and 519, cooled by heat exchangers 517 and 520, cooled and liquefied. The liquefied H2S is separated in gas-liq. separators 518 and 521, and the unliquefied gas is circulated through a line 511. Meanwhile, the liquefied H2S is passed through a storage tank 522, accurately measured by a measuring tank 526, then supplied to a reaction vessel 529 charged with a previously measured aq. NaOH soln. and subjected to a reaction. The generated aq. Na2S soln. is stored in a storage tank 531.
