    • PURPOSE:To separate and remove Cl contained in gypsum saturated liquid while preventing deposition of gypsum by subjecting gypsum saturated liquid to clarifying treatment and thereafter introducing it into an electrodialysis device consisting of a cation exchange membrane and a monovalent anionic permselective membrane. CONSTITUTION:An electrodialysis device is constituted of an intermediate chamber M partitioned by monovalent anionic permselective membranes A1, A2, a concentration chamber C partitioned by A2 and a cation exchange membrane K and desalting chambers D partitioned by K and A1. Gypsum saturated liquid is introduced into the desalting chamber D through a line 1 and Cl contained in the liquid is passed through the membranes A1, A2 and collected in the concentration chamber C. In this case, SO4 is partially passed through the membrane A1 but is not passed through the membrane A2 and cation is passed through the membrane K and transferred to the concentration chamber C but is not passed through the membrane A2 and therefore the deposition of gypsum is prevented. Treated liquid is discharged through a line 5 and recirculated and Cl concentrated liquid is discharged through a line 3 and treated as waste water.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the high-density alpha-type hemihydrate gypsum of good quality by heating and dehydrating gypsum dihydrate by the use of sulfo-succinate in a slurry state in order to convert said gypsum dihydrate into alpha-type hemihydrate gypsum. CONSTITUTION:In case of producing alpha-hemihydrate by heating and dehydrating gypsum dihydrate in the slurry state, sulfo-succinate is used as a crystalizing agent. When the crystalizing agent is allowed to coexist with MgSO4 and the other inorganic salts, or when the water-soluble inorganic salts stick to gypsum dihydrate acting as the raw material, these inorganic slats grow to be mixed into the medium solution because of reduction of the temperature in performing the above-described process. These inorganic ions except sodium ion can be removed by washing the resultant alpha-gypsum, so the regulation of the above- described washing degree is desired in accordance with the physical properties required for alpha-gypsum.

    • PURPOSE:To improve quality of the subject gypsum by reacting slurry of dihydrate gypsum having a specific concentration with steam in a condition controlled at definite temperature and detecting a time when the reaction is finished by lowering of flow rate of heated steam. CONSTITUTION:Dihydrate gypsum is mixed with a habit modifier in a raw material slurry preparing tank 1 to prepare slurry having 40-65wt.% dihydrate gypsum concentration and steam 7 is blown into the slurry to retain the slurry temperature to >=90 deg.C. Then the slurry is transferred into a reactional tank 2 and the slurry is charged so that apparent volume of the produced a type hemihydrate gypsum (hereinafter referred to as a gypsum) becomes equal to basket volume of a solid liquid separator 3 and steam 7 is blown into the slurry to control the reactional tank 2 to 110-150 deg.C. A steam amount is controlled so that temperature in the reactional tank 2 retains to prescribed temperature and alpha-gypsum forming reaction is finished at the time when steam amount is lowered. Lowering of flow rate of the steam 7 is detected by opening and closing degree of a control valve 8. The produced alpha-gypsum slurry is cooled and taken out to a solid liquid separator 3 and alpha-gypsum cake is washed with warm water so as to remove the habit modifier to provide the high-purity objective alpha-gypsum.

    • PURPOSE:To industrially and advantageously produce the title alpha-type gypsum hemihydrate by concentrating and regenerating a liq. habit modifier diluted with the water secondarily produced in the process by utilizing the waste heat of a high-temp. combustion exhaust gas in a flue gas desulfurizer, circulating, and using the regenerated modifier when alpha-type gypsum hemihydrate is produced from gypsum dihydrate by the pressurized aq. soln. method. CONSTITUTION:A slurry of gypsum dihydrate is heated together with a liq. habit modifier contg. at least magnesium sulfosuccinate or magnesium succinate, and dehydrated to produce alpha-type gypsum hemihydrate in the pressurized aq. soln. method. In this case, the dil. modifier obtained at the time of separating the alpha-type gypsum hemihydrate obtained in the dehydration reaction from liq. is introduced into a cooling and hymidifying part independently provided in the preceding stage of a flue gas desulfurizer, evaporated, and concentrated. The pH of the obtained liq. is adjusted, and a regenerated liq. habit modifier is obtained.
