摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boat including a propulsion system for generating a pressurized water flow passing through a hull having a port side and a starboard and through a nozzle. SOLUTION: A steering device is operationally connected to the nozzle 18. When the steering device is turned, the direction of the nozzle 18 is changed. At least a rudder is connected to either one of the port side and the starboard or both the sides. The rudders can be pivotally moved inward and outward and can be moved in the vertical direction with respect to side parts connected with the rudders. The rudders are arranged at a prescribed distance from each side part of the hull 38 and thereby the steering of a boat can be assisted by changing the direction of water flowing across the rudders by using internal surfaces and external surfaces of the rudders. A link element 20 connects the nozzle 18 with the rudders. Also an off-power steering system is disclosed.

CONSTITUTION:In arranging the cylinders of an engine 21 transversely and also arranging a crank shaft 22 transversely in the longitudinal direction, the shaft 22 is arranged displaced from the center face of a propulsion casing 36 at the time when the casing 36 is set at the rectilinear propagation position a propulsion casing 36, and an engine side power transmission shaft 100 is also arranged on the center face mentioned above, and a gear train 101 is arranged between the shaft 22 and the shaft 100. Therefore, each over hanging quantity to the port side and starboad side of the engine 21 in relation to the center face of the casing 36 is nearly equalized, and as a result, the inboard spaces formed on both right and left sides of the engine 21 are nearly equalized to each other, and the inboard spaces are effectively utilized. Since the cylinders of the engine 21 is transversely arranged, even in the case where a multi-cylinder engine is used, the height of the engine 21 can be lowered to the extent of not obstructing the sight of passengers.

A lateral support part 104 is formed on an upper gear box 98 of the gear housing 96 so as to be adjacent to the gimbal ring lateral support part 62, and a propeller 140 is supported by a lower gear box 109. Therefore, stress of the lateral part can be reduced.
