摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a small serial printer comprising a carriage, a type drum with type belts wound on a hollow cylindrical base, and hammers within the base and being operable quietly in high speed and at small power. CONSTITUTION:A small serial printer having carriage etc. for conveying a type drum in the printing column direction is provided with a carriage 12, a type drum 16 composed of a hollow cylindrical base 16a and type belts 16b, 16c of elastic material wound on the base 16a and having types of numerals and symbols arranged on the surface thereof, and hammers 18, 19 having one end opposed to the type belts 16b, 16c at inside of the base 16a and other end facing the contacting position with the cam member 22 at outside of the type drum 16 and being rotatable. During carry working of the carriage 12, the hammers 18, 19 are rotated by contacting with the cam member 22 and types in the type belts 16b, 16c are projected thereby printing is performed.

摘要： PURPOSE:To expedite the printing speed and to avoid the inferior printing, in the printing mechanism in a serial typing printer, by compressing a type drum and printing paper at the time of printing, and moving them in the direction of a column. CONSTITUTION:When a desired type 1a is printed, a tooth 5a of a gear 5 corresponding to the type drum 1 is advanced by a solenoid of a control member 8 and engaged with a rack tooth 8a. Since a rotary force is still imparted to the driving gear 5, the tooth 8a tends to rotate, with the tooth 8a as a supporting point. Then the drum 1 is moved in the direction of the column c by rolling movement together with a carrier 4. A pushing arm 10c for a hammer 10 rotatably supported by the carrier 4 tends to override a cam part 9a by the movement of the carrier 4 and rotates in the direction of E. A pushing roller 10b pushes a knob 2b at the back of a type belt 2, and the printing is made on the paper 13. Then the carrier 4, the drum 1, and the hammer 10 are moved in the direction of the column c all together. When the pushing arm 10c overrides the cam part 9a, the type is separated from the paper 13 and the printing operation is finished.
