摘要： PURPOSE:To make it possible to determine the material quality of a platen with due regard to printing quality first of all, by providing an ink coating apparatus for applying ink to the outer peripheral surface of a platen while moving said platen. CONSTITUTION:A head carriage 18 is engaged with a guide rod 14 in a slidable manner and a platen carriage 44 is attached to the guide rod 40 arranged in parallel to the aforementioned guide rod 14 in a rotatable manner so as to be made slidable to the axial direction and, further, a platen 52 is provided so as to be slid on the guide rod 40 along with a platen carriage 44. An ink roll cassette 70 is provided on the above mentioned platen carriage 44 corresponding to the platen 52. The above mentioned ink roll cassette 70 is constituted so that the outer periphral surface of the ink roll 72 thereof is contacted with the printing surface 64 of the platen 52 by energizing force in a direction revolved to the clockwise direction around a projection 90 and ink is applied to the platen 52.

摘要： PURPOSE:To speed up the switching of colors as well as prevent the occurrece of mixture of colors by using a system in which plural cylindrical color ink ribbons divided by color groups are turned through the front face of a print hammer. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbon 4 is wound around the periphery of a disc part 4' in a cylindrical form, and its periphery is divided into four sections in the circumferential direction. The ink ribbon 4 so divided is reversibly turned between a print hammer 1 and a printing paper 6. When a print starting command is sent out by a controller, an angle from the present color to a desired color is calculated in the controller, and a command to turn it to the position is given to a stepping motor 5 for beginning of printing operations. When a command to alter colors is received, the center angle of ink ribbon from the present position of the ink ribbon to a desired color is calculated in the printer, and the ink ribbon 4 is moved in a manner that a desired color comes to the front of the manner by shortest distance. By such operations, the switching of print and colors is made.
