The device 10 includes: a frame member 11 formed in a size to surround the periphery of the rectangular workpiece 1; a support member 12, one end side of which is fitted to the frame member 11, and which is constructed by sticking a workpiece side back pad 12b formed of a rubber sheet holding the rectangular workpiece 1 to the surface of a thin rectangular stainless plate 12a; and a stopper 17 provided on the frame member side to removably fix the other end side of the support member 12.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the space and energy saving performance and the assembling performance of end face polishing device, and improve their machining precision by suppressing turbulence in polishing loci. SOLUTION: In polishing operation, this end face polishing device rotates and swings a polishing disk 31 with a polishing member and presses a rod member held on a fixing jig disk against the polishing member of the polishing disk 31 thus rotated and swung. The polishing device includes a drive mechanism, which comprises a rotating shaft 33 with one end fixed to the polishing disk 31 so as to be rotatable and revolvable together with it, a revolving shaft 37 for holding the rotating shaft 33 rotatable in an offset position, revolving shaft support means 43 for supporting the revolving shaft 37 rotatably, drive means 50 for rotating the revolving shaft 37, a first gear 39 fixed to or near to the other end of the rotating shaft 33, and a second gear 49 disposed along the movement locus of the first gear 39 so as to engage with it. The rotation of the revolving shaft 37 by the drive means 50 revolves the rotating shaft 33, and the engagement between the first and second gears 39 and 49 rotates the rotating shaft 33.

    • PURPOSE:To ensure a large grinding amount while improving substantially surface roughness in the surface grinding of a sintered hard alloy or the like by grinding the work with a grinding wheel being fed relative to the work in the direction at a specified angle to the rotational direction of the grinding wheel. CONSTITUTION:The rotational direction of a grinding wheel 2 in grinding is not aligned with the feeding direction relative to a work 1, but the grinding wheel 2 is positively fed at an angle alpha (about 20-70 deg.) to the resultant direction of the rotational direction of the grinding wheel and the feeding direction of the work to give a predetermined feed-in for grinding. For the method of feeding at the angle of about 20-70 deg. are employed a method of feeding obliquely the shaft 4 of grinding wheel itself or the work 1 or a table to which the work is attached, and a method of controlling the feed speed of both the grinding wheel shaft 4 and work 1 orthogonal to each other. These methods may be carried out mechanically or electrically controlled with respect to tool locus by soft ware.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an uniform polished face by spinning the polishing machine against the spindle while revolving and varying the rotary ratio between the spindle and the polishing shaft and the shift between the center of the spindle and the center of the specimen holder thus changing the motion of the polishing machine against the specimen variously. CONSTITUTION:The automatic polishing machine is constructed such that the gear case 7 is fixed at the end portion of the gear case rotary shaft 5 then fixing to the polishing shaft 9 to the case 7 at the position eccentric against the spindle 3. Upon rotation of the motor 1, the shafts 3, 5 and the case 7 will rotate. Since the spindle gear 8 and the polishing shaft gear 10 are geared, the polishing shaft 9 will rotate in the direction opposite to the spindle 3. The polishing machine 11 fixed on the shaft 9 will also rotate in the direction opposite to the spindle 3. Consequently the polishing machine 11 will spin while revolving against the spindle 3. Furthermore the centers of the shaft 3 and the specimen holder are shifted, and when varying said shift a uniformly polished face is obtained.
