    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical monitor device, an optical switch, and an optical monitor method with which routes can be switched by components of each single-wavelength light included in a WDM light, the number of components can be decreased by sharing a wavelength demultiplexing element provided to a spectral optical system, and the assembly step of a wavelength selection switch for a WDM transmission system can be simplified. SOLUTION: A plurality of single-wavelength lights included in a 1st wavelength multiplex light are switched to desired routes by wavelengths of the single-wavelength lights, the plurality of single-wavelength lights which are switched are multiplexed to output a 2nd wavelength multiplex light, and the 2nd wavelength multiplex light which is outputted is subjected to power branching; and a wavelength demultiplexing element demultiplexes the power-branched 2nd wavelength multiplex light into a plurality of wavelength demultiplexed lights by the wavelength components and physical quantities of the plurality of wavelength demultiplexed lights which are demultiplexed are monitored respectively.
