摘要： A wavelength routing system includes a plurality of nodes (1, 2, 3, 4) and an array waveguide grating (40) having a routing property and optically connected to the plurality of nodes. Each of the nodes has a plurality of light sources (TLS) outputting lights at different wavelengths to the array waveguide grating, respectively, and a wavelength demultiplexer (125, 225, 325, 425) having a periodic property, demultiplexing a light output from the array waveguide grating, and outputting demultiplexed lights. The wavelength demultiplexer is set a channel period which is different from that of the array waveguide, and which is more than or equal to a number of output ports of the wavelength demultiplexer.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical monitor device, an optical switch, and an optical monitor method with which routes can be switched by components of each single-wavelength light included in a WDM light, the number of components can be decreased by sharing a wavelength demultiplexing element provided to a spectral optical system, and the assembly step of a wavelength selection switch for a WDM transmission system can be simplified. SOLUTION: A plurality of single-wavelength lights included in a 1st wavelength multiplex light are switched to desired routes by wavelengths of the single-wavelength lights, the plurality of single-wavelength lights which are switched are multiplexed to output a 2nd wavelength multiplex light, and the 2nd wavelength multiplex light which is outputted is subjected to power branching; and a wavelength demultiplexing element demultiplexes the power-branched 2nd wavelength multiplex light into a plurality of wavelength demultiplexed lights by the wavelength components and physical quantities of the plurality of wavelength demultiplexed lights which are demultiplexed are monitored respectively. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce loss in routing an optical signal from an ad-port to an output side fiber. SOLUTION: Wavelength-selective switches (WSS) having embedded multiplexer or demultiplexer functionality include a stack of planar waveguide circuits (PLC) in which all but one of the PLCs have identical features consisting of a single waveguide connected to a free space region, further connected to a waveguide array that terminates at the PLC edge facet, which are placed at the front focal plane of a lens, generating a spectrally resolved optical signal at the back focal plane of the lens. Due to the use of a single lens, the spectrally resolved optical signal of all the PLCs are superimposed, differing only by propagation direction. A tilting micro-mirror array at the back focal plane reflects the spectral components, implementing a wavelength-selective switch. The reflected light can be coupled to any of the remaining PLCs, for multiplexing, or to the different PLC in the stack, which implements the multiplexer/demultiplexer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
