    • PURPOSE:To transmit a high-frequency signal at a high speed by means of a transmission line having a narrow transmission band, by sampling the high- frequency signal obtained by a reproducer and transmitting the signal after converting it into a pulse output signal of a prescribed frequency. CONSTITUTION:A signal S0 repeating the same video signal is obtained from a VTR1 and supplied to a sampling circuit 2 constituting a transmitter 100. The signal S0 is sampled by the circuit 2 with a sampling pulse Ps to obtain an impulse signal Pi. For the pulse Ps, the sampling point is shifted by the frequency within a transmission band by a time equivalent to one-to-double frequency component of the maximum frequency of the video signal for each field. The signal Pi is converted into a pulse output signal P0 by an integrator 6 and transmitted to a receiver 200 via a telephone line 8. Then the signal P0 is converted into a signal Pi through a differentiating circuit 12 at the receiver 200 and then supplied to a demodulating circuit 13. The circuit 13 integrates the signal Pi by a prescribed repeating frequency. The output Ss of the circuit 13 is delivered through a terminal 16 via an integration circuit 14 and a gate circuit 15.
