    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radome and a microstrip patch antenna having the same. SOLUTION: The gain value of the microstrip patch antenna having the radome can be increased while the size thereof remains in a limited size. The radome comprises: a radome body 11 having an upper surface 111 and a lower surface; a first gain-enhancing pattern 12 locating on the upper surface and including a plurality of first ring gain-enhancing units 121; and a second gain-enhancing pattern locating on the lower surface and including a plurality of second ring gain-enhancing units. The first ring gain-enhancing unit includes a first conductive ring and a second conductive ring, and the second ring gain-enhancing unit includes a third conductive ring and a fourth conductive ring. Moreover, a step 19 to insert the outer side surface of the frame elements 10 without a step difference is provided for the outer side surface of the link piece 14.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption, by controlling the power application to electric heating source for a radome, through the selection and reception of a signal interfered toward polarized wave side at a filter of reception side and detection of adhered ice/snow to the radome with the output state. CONSTITUTION:An input received at a parabola antenna 1 through a radome 2 with electric heater is separated into polarized waves in frequencies f1, f2, f3, f4 at a polarized wave brancher 3. The frequencies f1, f2, f3, f4 are branched at channel branchers 4a, 4b, 4d, 4e and outputted from output terminals 6a, 6b, 6d, 6e of receivers 5a, 5b, 5d, 5e. As to the frequency f4, cross polarized wave from the brancher 3 is branched at a channel brancher 4c, the output of cross polarized wave received at the receiver 5c is applied to a comparator 8, where the output is compared with the output of main polarized wave receivvied at the receiver 5e. If the output of cross polarized wave is more deteriorated than the preset value, a controller 9 supplying the power supply at a power supply input terminal 10 to the radome 2 is controlled and the power is supplied only at adhered ice/snow.

It is thereby possible to reduce side lobes caused by cross polarized waves as a principal component from a feeder line of the antenna and prevent road clutter. It is possible to reduce resonance of the slits of which the natural frequency is equal to vibrations of the vehicle or less and suppress noise. As a result, it is possible to achieve superior detection performance as a radar device.
