    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mass spectrometer 100 facilitating replacement of a measurement sample capable of restricting carry-over.SOLUTION: A mass spectrometer includes: a mass spectrometry part 102 for separating an ionized sample gas; an ion source 101 in which the interior thereof is depressurized by differential evacuation from the mass spectrometry part 102, which ionizes the sample gas; a sample container 17 for evaporating a measurement sample to generate the sample gas; a capillary 11 for introducing the sample gas generated in the sample container 17 to the ion source 101; an elastic tube 12 connecting the sample container 17 and the capillary 11 together and freely opening and closing; a pair of dams 13a, 13b for closing and opening the elastic tube 12 so as to sandwich the elastic tube 12; and a cartridge 8 for integrating the sample container 17, the capillary 11, and the elastic tube 12, the integrated components being collectively attached to and detached from a cartridge body. The sample container 17 can be attached/detached to/from the cartridge 8 when the cartridge 8 is in a detached state.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and light mass spectroscope capable of analyzing a mass at high accuracy.SOLUTION: The mass spectroscope has an ion source for ionizing gas 23 flowing from outside to ionize a measurement sample 4, and a mass analyzing part 102 for separating the ionized measurement sample 4. The internal pressure of the ion source is reduced by differential evacuation from the mass analyzing part 102. The ion source takes in the gas 23 to increase the internal pressure, and ionizes the gas 23 when the internal pressure is about 100 Pa to about 10000 Pa. The mass analyzing part 102 separates the ionized measurement sample 4 when the internal pressure increased while taking in the gas 23 is reduced to about 0.1 Pa or less after taking in the gas 23. The spectroscope has restraining means 9 for restraining a flow rate of the gas 23 taken in by the ion source, and opening/closing means 8 for opening/closing a flow of the gas 23 taken in by the ion source.
