    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photomultiplier tube and a radiation detecting device securing the strength of a stem and easy in thickness control, and capable of securing sufficiently large the effective area of each electrode.
      SOLUTION: A photoemissive surface 14, a focus electrode 17, dynodes Dy1-Dy12, a drawing electrode 19, and an anode 25 are arranged in a vacuum container constituted by jointing airtightly a light receiving face plate 13 at one side end and a stem 29 through a tubular member 31 at the other side end of a side tube 15. A tubular member 31 is arranged at the peripheral part of the stem 29, and a support pin 21 and a lead pin 47 are inserted and fixed at the extension part 32 extending from the tubular member 31. Since the support pin 21 and the lead pin 47 are arranged at the cut-outs 49, 24 of dynodes Dy1-Dy12 and the drawing electrode 19, the effective area of each electrode can be secured sufficiently large. Furthermore, a climbing up portion 33 is formed at the connection part of each pin and the stem 29, thereby thickness control is easy.

Since the second-stage and subsequent metal channel dynodes 5B can be thinned in a stacked form, the total length in the stacking direction of the dynode part can be structured into a short and compact form.
