    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PDP in which chemical reaction of a rear face substrate of soda-lime glass containing SiO 2 -CaO-Na 2 O with a metal address electrode is prevented, discoloration and deformation of the rear face substrate are prevented, and manufacturing cost can be reduced. SOLUTION: A first substrate 10 and a second substrate which are separately arranged opposing to each other, barrier ribs arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate to partition a plurality of discharge cells, phosphor layers formed in the discharge cells, an address electrode formed on the first substrate extending in a first direction, and a first electrode and a second electrode which are extended on a second substrate along a second direction intersecting with the first direction and arranged side by side mutually in places corresponding to the electric discharge cells are included. The first substrate is composed of a soda-lime glass containing SiO 2 -CaO-Na 2 O, while the address electrode includes a frit layer 111 formed of frits on the first substrate and a metal component layer 112 composed of metal componenst on the frit layer.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device having characteristics and efficiency stabilized in micro discharge; and to provide a plasma display device having a simple structure and reliability.
      SOLUTION: This plasma display panel includes a dielectric layer having a plurality of through holes distributed in a matrix-like form; and upper and lower electrode layers having through holes connected to the through holes and arranged on both upper and lower surfaces of the dielectric layer; and a drive circuit part capable of applying electric signals to the upper and lower electrode layers. The plasma display panel is characterized in that the upper electrode layer includes a plurality of first electrodes elongatedly formed in a first direction; the plurality of first electrodes are so formed as to surround a group of the through holes arranged in the first direction; the lower electrode layer includes a plurality of second electrodes elongatedly formed in a second direction having a certain angle with respect to the first direction; and the plurality of second electrodes are so formed as to surround a group of the through holes arranged in the second direction.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PDP with a new structure, achieving enhancement in luminous efficiency and luminance, and reduction in reactive power.
      SOLUTION: This PDP is equipped with a back substrate, a front substrate disposed apart from the back substrate, barrier ribs disposed between the front substrate and the back substrate to define a plurality of discharge cells corresponding to sub-pixels together with the back substrate and the front substrate, a first discharge electrode disposed so as to surround the discharge cell, a second discharge electrode disposed so as to surround the discharge cell with a prescribed interval kept apart from the first discharge electrode while extending perpendicularly to the first discharge electrode in the discharge cell, a phosphor layer disposed in the discharge cell, and a discharge gas existing in the discharge cell. A unit pixel contains the sub-pixels, and at least the unit pixels adjoining in one direction are disposed with a prescribed interval kept apart from each other in this PDP.
