    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PDP in which chemical reaction of a rear face substrate of soda-lime glass containing SiO 2 -CaO-Na 2 O with a metal address electrode is prevented, discoloration and deformation of the rear face substrate are prevented, and manufacturing cost can be reduced. SOLUTION: A first substrate 10 and a second substrate which are separately arranged opposing to each other, barrier ribs arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate to partition a plurality of discharge cells, phosphor layers formed in the discharge cells, an address electrode formed on the first substrate extending in a first direction, and a first electrode and a second electrode which are extended on a second substrate along a second direction intersecting with the first direction and arranged side by side mutually in places corresponding to the electric discharge cells are included. The first substrate is composed of a soda-lime glass containing SiO 2 -CaO-Na 2 O, while the address electrode includes a frit layer 111 formed of frits on the first substrate and a metal component layer 112 composed of metal componenst on the frit layer.
